About Brew Clock
Updated by Isadora Venn. Links to Amazon earn us a commission (how that works).
Brew Clock is a small, independent site about one appliance: the coffee maker that runs before you're fully awake. It exists to answer a narrow question well, which machine fits your mornings, and to show its sources while doing it.
What the site is
The name comes from the dial on the left of every page. A drip machine takes about four to six minutes to brew a pot, and the sections of each page are laid out along that minute hand, from the first question to the verdict.
Every recommendation starts from public evidence: the Specialty Coffee Association's certified home brewer list, and reviews published under named mastheads: America's Test Kitchen and Tom's Guide, plus The Coffee Locator and Tasting Table. Product facts come from Amazon listings, each logged with a date.
How it stays independent
Measurements quoted here belong to the people who took them: the SCA's lab for certified brewers, and named editors for everything else, credited wherever a number appears. If Brew Clock ever adds readings of its own, they'll sit in a clearly marked panel with a date and a name.
It isn't a store. Buttons go to Amazon, and the site earns a commission when you buy. The affiliate disclosure explains that in full.
It isn't sponsored. No brand has paid for a placement or sent a machine. None has seen a page before publication.
How pages are put together
Each page answers the question first, in a shaded box, then explains. The twelve buyer worries that run through the site (water temperature and plastic among them) come from search phrases and from what reviewers keep scoring.
Prices aren't printed because they change daily and a stale number is worse than none. Star ratings aren't printed either; the homepage's method section explains why.
When a listing contradicts itself, the page says so. The Ratio Six listing's bullet points describe a different machine, for example, and the review flags it rather than quietly using them.
